Makeup for your wedding day

Wednesday, July 02, 2008 Posted in Uncategorized

We have talked about our friend Danica at Makeup Envy. She did the makeup on Jessica and a few other sessions on our blog. It can not be understated what a good MUA Makeup Artist can do for the look of your photo’s. I don’t think most photographers put much importance on good makeup or talk with clients about it. Whether or not you are going to use a makeup artist on your wedding day you should always apply the makeup before the wedding day to see how it is going to look. Many brides make the mistake of picking a look that is to aggressive and applying it on the wedding day and not liking it (its to late to change it at this point). To much makeup is also another common problem. I know many brides that would have looked better with a more natural look. If you can see flaking or uneven areas the camera is going to as well. As a photographer we can use airbrushing to help it but many photographers use techniques which even out skin tone, but still leave some of the texture making it look natural. If the texture on your face is a bad flaking makeup job, it makes it hard, if not impossible, to make it look natural. I think the best advice I have for you is to put some thought into your makeup before the wedding to make sure you are going to love it. Danica has a nice tutorial on daytime makeup that you girls might get a kick out of go check it out.

If you are looking for makeup tips, classes or a makup artist for your wedding you can contact Danica at (303)317-2171. You girls will like her she is one of the nicest people in the world and an artist with a ton of talent.

Jessica’s Model Shoot

Tuesday, July 01, 2008 Posted in Colorado Wedding Photographer

Here is the second installment of the fire theme model photos. They were so much fun to take. Angie and I like how everything from makeup to wardrobe was thought out. The reward is when all of the thought and creativity come together to make something special. It can be very satisfying creating something from scratch and from a vision in the back of your head. We hope you guys enjoy!

Special thanks to our friend Sarah a very talented local artist who painted the red and orange background for us.   If you would like her information please contact us so we can give you the details.
