Wedding Trends through the Wedding Report

Thursday, August 28, 2008 Posted in Colorado Wedding Photographer

Occasionally I receive an email with a “Wedding Report” talking about trends in the wedding industry and what brides are up to from The Wedding Report, Inc. !  I always think it’s fascinating and look forward to reading it!  I recently received an email from them and I thought I would share some of their insight when it comes to weddings and the statistics.

One of the things they did this time was the Top 10 Wedding Industry Trends, here is what they say:

  1. Couples are interested in and are trying to cut costs for their wedding
  2. Untrained and inexperienced photographers are doing well
  3. Bold colors are trendy and popular
  4. Brides use the internet a lot to research  products and services
  5. Buffet dinners are common
  6. Morning and  afternoon weddings are becoming the thing to do
  7. Couples prefer all-inclusive wedding packages;  then they don’t have as much work
  8. Winter weddings are popular and weddings in the snow
  9. Destination weddings have gotten closer to home
  10. Different types of weddings have increased in California

The second section focused on engagement rings.  Here are some of the facts they stated:

1.  The majority are still made up of diamonds

2.  2/3 are made with white gold

3.  December is the most popular month for proposing and Saturday is the most popular day

4.  Americans will have spent over $6.1 billion dollars in 2008 for engagement rings
