One of the most beautiful venues here in Colorado for a wedding is Phipps Mansion. Unfortunately this is their last year having brides and weddings use their site and we are very sad! Phipps Mansion was built in 1933 and sits on 5 1/2 acres of landscaped grounds. The mansion is over 33,000 square feet and has more than 70 rooms. It was decorated with European influence and has served as a venue for weddings, corporate events and even held the Summit of the Eight conference back in 1997.
Paul and Megan had their wedding here in the back garden with the quartet playing from the doorway of the living room and their guests sitting amongst the plush green grass, small fountains and breathtaking flowers. It rained for the majority of the day but finally let up as the ceremony began. It was an emotional setting and we watched the happy tears flow from their families eyes as Megan walked through the garden with her dad towards her new husband. Paul and Megan had beautiful vows and after the ceremony the guests made their way to huge back patio of the mansion for the reception. With no real formal wedding traditions the guests sat outside with the beautiful gardens all around them chatting, telling stories about the bride and groom and laughing. It was such a beautiful, happy wedding in such a calm and relaxed setting. Here are a few of our favorites from that day!
Part II soon!
I think we showed an image from this session maybe on facebook or a sneak peak, I can’t remember. I don’t have time to put up the rest today but I will get them up. I wanted to share the feature at ColoradoWeddingStyle, it has a few images from this fashion style bridal session. Please enjoy.
Joe and Valerie planned a beautiful day up in boulder for their engagement photos. Valerie graduated from CU so we asked nicely to go to the campus for some fun. I said nicely because if you didn’t know me and angie both graduated from CSU. Since we won the last game atleast we had bragging rights, lol. We had a lot of fun talking about when they met and their upcoming wedding at the Chateau at Fox Meadows.
Looking for more sessions like this one
Andy & I have recently started a series of photography workshops called the Woodshop! They include a few retreat style workshops and more one on one classes helping other photographers learn specific things for their business. A few weeks back we had a couple of great photographers from Montana fly out for a Woodshop and it was so much fun! We spent half the day discussing business, marketing, SEO and things that were specific to their company. The second half of of the day we had our assistant, Charlotte become our model and we played around in different areas of Denver with different lighting.
Working in a smaller group was great because we were able to address the specific needs of the people we were with! As with all of our small workshops we design the day based on what people want to learn! We wanted to share some of the photos from that day that we took of our beautiful assistant, Charlotte!
Also a special thank you to Chris Rebo and his business partner, Janna; we had a great time with you guys and have some amazing photography!
We didn’t shoot much since we were teaching but here a few ones of charlotte.
