Film Wedding Photographer Denver Colorado

Thursday, October 14, 2010 Posted in Colorado Wedding Photographer

Film has turned me into a client.  We get spoiled being able to see the images as we take them.  You the client may get to see a few on the back of the camera but the anticipation builds as you wait for your images. Well since starting to shoot film again for more than personal projects we have become the client again waiting for those images to come back to the studio.  If you are looking for a photographer that can shoot film in denver colorado for your wedding please let us know.  If you are already a client and like the look of these film images just ask us to shoot some at your wedding.  We have added packages with half the coverage, one of us shooting just film, if you are interested in those please make sure to give us a call.  If you are wondering what you are going to do with film don’t worry.  We receive digital scans of our images and those are available for purchase just like our digital files.

For all those photographers wondering what this was taken with.  Contax 645 and 80mm Zeiss @2.0

Senior Portrait Preview

Wednesday, October 13, 2010 Posted in portraits

Since we specialize in weddings and have a hard time getting up all of our wedding work, I don’t show very much portrait work.  We shot around 15 seniors this year.  Here is one from the other day.  It rained during our session so we went for some cover while we waited it out.  I chose this area because of the urban architecture and the fact that it was dry.  I think it is important as a photographer to be able to create a dramatic portrait just about anywhere.  Looking for urban style senior portraits give us a call at 303.888.9394 to discuss packages.

Image from Jamaica

Tuesday, October 12, 2010 Posted in destination wedding photographer

Funny how things change.  Years ago we waited many weeks for our film to be processed by the labs.  Now it can take as little as 5 business days to get it developed.  I think it’s because of new machines, and that fact that not as many people are processing film .  Now we shoot digital mostly, and the film is done weeks before we will be able to work on it.  Analog is faster for workflow than digital with us.  I really never saw that coming.

We are a hybrid studio if you are wondering.  We shoot both film and digital.  These images were shot at a destination wedding in Jamaica.  Angie used a Holga camera to take them.  It is a 30 dollar camera made in China.  It is considered a toy camera, with its plastic lense and plastic body.  I am sure there are a few people asking, why with the thousands of dollars of equipment would you choose a 30 dollar camera?  To us its the look.  The flaws give it character.  Think of your favorite actor.  Most of them are very distinctive in their look.  Usually considered a flaw by many its a signature for them.

If you want to learn more about the holga check out these two posts.
