Colorado Springs Engagement Photography

Kelley and James invited us to one of their favorite spots for this engagement session. I can say that we all had a lot of fun with Kelly telling us stories of her child hood hanging out and playing in the area. The area at the top of the mountain had rocks that reminded me another planet to be honest. It was fun to play around with something that looked so different. It was quite the hike and adventure. As you can tell from the photos it got dark on us, and we kind of got lost, trying to get back to the cars. Lots of joking about never making it back to the car were brought up.

James is a cameraman for news channel here in town so we had some fun collaborating on these shots. I wanted to say it really is a honor when someone who works in the industry choses you for their photography. It is both an honor as well as some pressure.

I haven’t posted a picture lately so I thought I would put this bridal portrait up for you all to see. I will definitely be sharing more from this session we got some amazing cool pictures from this session. Kelsey looked amazing and I think she could do some modeling if she ever wanted to. Interesting People at Weddings in Colorado

One of my favorite parts of this job is looking for interesting people at the weddings we are hired to photograph. These people mean a lot to the brides and grooms that hire us and its important to get these shots. They mean a great deal to our clients, but they are interesting to others as well. This picture tells a story whether or not you know this gentleman. What kind of a story does it tell you? I really love this photo and wanted to share it, I hope you enjoy it as well.

Winter Park Wedding Photographers ( Devils Thumb Ranch)

Jason and Melisa were married up in Winter Park at Devil’s Thumb Ranch in the snow! This is such a great venue up in the mountains with lots of rustic charm. They have many different places for weddings including outside amongst the beautiful fields of flowers and mountains. Because of the cold and the snow Jason and Melisa chose inside and it couldn’t of been more beautiful. Devil’s Thumb has a unique little building that has 360 degrees of windows with spectacular views!
They had a small wedding with only a few close friends and family.

As you will see from the pictures even the sky was painted with blues and pinks this day; it was amazing!

Wedding Dance

I am sure almost everyone has seen the wedding dance that swept the country a few months ago. It was a lot of fun to watch. I found this version that was done live in New York on the Today show. This time around there is a cast, wheelchair and a huge crowd.

Wedding Photographer Colorado Mountains

Many brides get really upset when it rains on their wedding day. It can cause some problems, but I can tell you that it always works out. Because of our unique way of shooting wedding photography, it creates amazing opportunities for the bride willing to brave a little wet. We are one of the few photographers that I know of that have brides saying before their wedding “I hope we get a little rain and some amazing clouds”.

So if it rains at your wedding. Take a deep breath and know that something magical is going to happen.

Top 10 Finish Wedding Photography Contest

WPD has announced today the winners of their annual wedding photography contest. Out of thousands of entries we had all three of our allowed entries in the top 100. Of those 1 of them has made the top 10 as a honorable mention and runner up. You can see the other winners at WPD. I am really proud of Andy, I am glad he isn’t the competition:)

Trash the Dress Mile High Photographers

Well I finally got these finished and can share the rest of them. I will split them up into two posts since there are so many of them. Thank you to Jared Wilson and James Christianson as well as Jessica Bergthold, Andrew Schaefer for putting on this fun get together. As I said in the last post its always fun to get out and shoot without deadlines or pressure. The models were really nice and a lot of fun to shoot. Hanging out in an old ghost town to shoot, trash the dress style imagery is like taking a kid to a candy shop. After the shoot we went and had a nice dinner at the tommy knockers brewery.
