We have been diligently working on our Masterclass for WPPI, which is almost here. I can’t wait to see all the photographers from around the country that we have made friends with, and the new ones taking our class. I know many photographers are putting together their schedules for WPPI. I wanted to share one of the best educational experiences I have ever had as a photographer. We all know that that most of the experiences usually cost you. Well at WPPI watching the print competition is free with your registration. I have sat through them for the last 4 years and learned more in a few hours listening to the judges than any other activity I have done as a photographer. The judging will be Friday and Saturday you owe it to yourself to see this competition in action.
I also wanted to congratulate my wonderfully talented husband who is going to be one of the Print Judges at WPPI this year in the wedding category. I am so excited for him, what a wonderful experience.

We wanted to say thank you to Bridal Insider for featuring some of our images . You can see more images from Paul and Megan’s wedding at Phipps Mansion at Phipps Mansion I and Phipps Mansion II. The article talks about the use of purple in weddings so if you are thinking about using it you may find some useful information.

Ten weeks ago I shot a wedding close to Ouray, Colorado. I took some time to shoot some more film and got some really cool stuff. I love shooting old subjects and this old fire truck fits the bill. I love the color and texture of the image, what do you think? We have driven by this place a few times in our adventures and never had the time to stop. It’s a strip of antique shops with a lot of cool things to take pictures of. Kind of like a candy shop for a photographer. I will share more as I get some time to scan them. I still have 4 more rolls of fun.
We celebrate so many different holidays throughout the year but Thanksgiving is one to make you stop and think. What are you thankful for? Who are you thankful for? And why do we wait until this one day of the year to be thankful for these things.
Andy & I are thankful for our families, our friends, our business and our amazing clients.
But, we are also thankful for…..
~ The amazing tea shop down the street
~ Lemon Poppy Seed Muffins
~ Seat warmers in our Jeep
~ Warm Chips & Salsa
~ A good friend’s new baby
~ Photo shoots with our dog
So, What are you thankful for?
Andy & I have family spread out in different places so we find ourselves driving to many dinners on the holidays. It’s always fun to catch up with family, hear their stories and of course share all of ours. The funny thing about Thanksgiving is all of the food and after all of that food you are presented with every kind of pie that can be made. Although I think this might be the first Thanksgiving I didn’t gorge myself and I mostly attribute that to the pet goat who joined us for dinner. I was totally distracted by her and of course the photographer in me took many pictures! Andy and I are always drawn to animals. We love them in all their variety. So today I am also thankful for farm animal photography!
