A photographers drug. Finding that place where subject meets light.
Elusive. addictive. a high
Colorado had some beautiful weather this weekend and after all the snow it made me want wedding season to come back around. I just love the color of this bridesmaids dress and wanted to share it incase someone wants to get it for their wedding this year. You can get this bridesmaids dress at Bella Bridesmaids if you were looking:)
Well the answer is simple find someone to take a portrait of. Since it’s a lot more difficult to turn the camera on yourself, Angie usually has to have her picture taken a lot. I shot this after a family session so she still had her camera on. For the photographers out there you can see her sporting her rapid strap which we both love. If you don’t have one of these wonderful straps go buy one right now. Its a lifesaver for your neck and back.
I really loved the light at this spot, and think it was nice of Angie to sit still so I could get a few shots.

Weddings bring up a lot of emotion. As our society gets busier and busier, we many times don’t have the time to reflect or to feel. Weddings are such a ball of emotions. The father and mother of the bride and groom, have emotions of love and memories of when their children were young. They are now grown up and starting on their adventure. Friends and family are happy for the bride and groom who have found someone special to live life with. Weddings are a day filled with much emotion and thats why this day means so much for Angie and I to capture. Its a milestone and special day.
This image was taken at a wedding in Estes this year at the Stanley Hotel. I get choked up looking at the emotion of her father during the first dance. I hope you enjoy the image and can think back to your first dance or look forward to it.
