Sneak peak of Engagement Photography

Tuesday, April 24, 2012 Posted in Photographer

Got a few rolls of film back from the lab today and we are still finishing up the digital files.  Taylor and Blake are both firefighters and we did some photographs with their gear.   Made for a romantic outing and I can’t wait to share soon.  If I can’t share the whole thing I thought you would atleast want a taste.

Taken with Fuji pro400h and Contax

Photographing a Breckenridge Wedding

Monday, March 05, 2012 Posted in Photographer

Trisha used calla lilies as her main flower throughout the day with beautiful fall colors.  She carried a bundle of them as her bouquet along with the bridesmaids and the groom and his men wore them on their lapels.  Each girl wore a different colored dress and filled the air with laughter all day.  Ten Mile Station has a very rustic atmosphere and with all of the flowers surrounding it comes with it’s own natural decor for any wedding.  Because of this Trisha went simple and adorned each table at the reception with candles and colorful calla lilies.  It was so beautiful and had a romantic feel as they ate dinner with all of their friends and family to celebrate.

This first shot is a Collodion Wet Plate Image.  A scan of the actual plate it was shot on.  I wish we had time at more weddings to do Collodion Wet Plate.

Breckenridge Wedding Photography

Monday, March 05, 2012 Posted in Photographer

One of our favorite places in Colorado is Breckenridge!  It’s a cute little ski town with a Main Street full of little shops, great ski runs and fun restaurants.  It’s nestled in the mountains so from the ski slopes you can see across the town and up another mountain full of beautiful homes.  One of our favorite Colorado Wedding Venues, Ten Mile Station, is in this cute town half way up the mountain.  It’s a beautiful venue designed to look like a cabin and has 360 degree views.  During ski season it is used as a place to stop, rest and grab some food but in the summer they drown the building with flowers and it becomes this amazing place full of life and color for people have their weddings.

Eric and Trisha were married here on a beautiful fall evening and we couldn’t have been more excited to be there!  Trisha planned the wedding based on the colors of fall, using orange, red, yellow and brown throughout the day.

Their ceremony was held on the giant deck overlooking the amazing views and afterwards we were able to go into the woods and play around.  Luckily they liked pictures almost as much as we do and were up for anything!
