If you have read this blog for any amount of time you know how much Angie and I love animals. We especially love dogs. We love seeing people incorporate things that they love in their wedding. At a wedding recently at Arrowhead Golf course the couple dressed up their dog and everyone had a lot of fun watching their family pet be part of their amazing day. I wanted to show it I hope it brings a smile to your face.

It’s always fun to see your wedding and engagement pictures somewhere else. The fun inspiration blog MileHighBride featured Jen and Derek’s engagement session in Downtown Denver. Go check out the feature and the site , it’s so much fun.
We went to another funeral this weekend. It has been the third this month. Why even talk about it? It’s not a happy topic. It really has made me stop and rethink how I feel about family and friends. My youth, has lead me to believe in error that my friends and family will always be around. It’s even given me an excuse to be mad at them longer than I should. I have, in a way taken them for granted. I am sure, that I am not the only one. I have been talking with friends, two of which have experienced a lot more death than me. It was interesting, one of them said and recounted a few things that I have only recently learned or come to realize. It seems life teaches us these lessons at different times. There is no school book they pull out and tell you to turn to that page. The moments you are experiencing today are priceless and they will never come again. This is one of the reasons we love to shoot weddings. It’s one of those occasions full of love and laughter, it brings family’s and friends together for a few days without the worries of life.
I will posting another full wedding tomorrow from Omni Interlocken Hotel, this is one of my favorite shots from the wedding. Jeanna’s bridemaids during the ceremony laughing. It makes me smile every time I see it.
Unknown said Truly great friends are hard to find, difficult to leave, and impossible to forget.
Watching a couple so in love surrounded by their friends and family and being able to capture that for forever is one reason we love this job!
Brian & Mandy were a perfect example of this radiating their love the whole day. They were married on a very sunny, hot day and like most of our mid summer weddings we felt bad for all of the guys in dark suits!
Mandy was so cute in her white mermaid gown and green orchid in her hair. They wanted an elegant wedding with a hint of “under the sea” feeling! The bridesmaids wore long, flowing blue dresses and each of the girls carried a simple bouquet of white and green orchids.
They were married at the Inn at Palmer Divide with their ceremony under the balcony. When you do weddings long enough, you begin to memorize a traditional ceremony and know most of the things the officiant is going to say. But on top of those traditional things every wedding we have ever been to has things throughout customized to them. It is always so much to hear little stories and things that come out about our couples during their wedding ceremony! One of the unique things Brian & Mandy did was to use a beautiful white orchid during their ceremony. Instead of lighting a candle or pouring sand they each poured water into this flower’s pot as a sign of their ever growing love for each other.
Their reception was beautifully done with the “under the sea” theme using blue table cloths and clear bowls full of water, white orchids and little fish in the center of each table. Their wedding cake was an elegant square tiered cake with green orchids and a little mermaid topper!
I loved how Mandy took her “under the sea” theme and made it into a beautiful wedding!
