We awoke yesterday to find out that another fabulous wedding blog had featured our images.  The Fabbride is a wedding blog that seeks to inspire brides from their local area of philadelphia as well as brides from around the nation.  Bobby and Kendra had their wedding in Philadelphia and had us fly out to document it.  We love doing destination weddings and since I had worked in Philadelphia for 16 months during my IT consulting days it was even more of a pleasure to get back to this unique city.  We can’t thank Bola at the FabBride enough for featuring our work on her beautiful blog.

There was so much passion in the room for this sport and the team all of these people were loyal to.  It got me thinking about the things different people love and their passion.  For these guys it was obviously soccer and they were there to support their team until the end.  Of course we did not share quite the same excitement as they did; we haven’t ever really watched soccer and certainly didn’t know the rules.  But just watching them slamming their glasses down, yelling, jumping up was fun and it is exactly how we feel, not about soccer, but photography!

I wanted to write this post to kind of talk about a philosophy Andy and I have had since we started this business.  If we ever felt like our passion for creating imagery was gone we would move onto something else.  We have worked hard keep that feeling, we had when we had that first amazing image, that first award.  For those that are not photographers, its basically the same feeling you got on Christmas morning with all the anticipation for what would be waiting under the tree.  For sports players its the thrill and rush of hitting a home run, finishing a race.  If that feeling is no longer there its time to do something else.  Why?

There are masses of people that want your job, and brides deserve the best photographers in the nation to capture their special day.  The minute you are not feeling the thrill of chasing that next beautiful image, you are about to endure a slow death. People in all walks of life who have stopped “living”.  We all know someone that fits this “walking dead”.  Its not a life we want.  I am writing this post both to let brides know that we are still chasing that next beautiful image and to help photographers who might be feeling burn’t out to think about “for the love it”.  Take that feeling you had when you first picked up a camera and use it at the next wedding, I know we will.
