Dave McGraw and the Crow Wing just released an album called, Coyotes Came Around. They asked us to come down to the Soiled Dove and get some pictures of their concert. We have taken pictures of Dave in concert for the last few years and it is always a pleasure. Dave McGraw has become one of our favorite bands. You can check out Dave McGraws site here.
Coyotes Came Around is now available on Itunes if you want to check it out. My personal favorite is Western Sky check it out.
We wanted to share a few more pictures from the bridal session we did in Philadelphia. After we played around in the Eastern State Penitentiary we went to a few more outdoor museums and finished with a view of city. The look and feel of the buildings in Philadelphia are like nothing we have seen here in America; we probably could of shot all week and still not done it all! If you have never been I would tell you to take the time to visit! From Penn’s Landing to South Street to The Liberty Bell, there are so many places to see and so much of America’s history to learn about. We had such a great time and we were so lucky to work with such an amazing girl with such amazing venues!
We had a wedding in Philadelphia not long ago and while we were there we got the opportunity to do a bridal session for another girl. It’s always fun when we travel to have the chance to shoot more than once, so we get very excited when the opportunity arrises! Because we were in such a historical city with many old buildings and such amazing architecture we talked to the bride about doing something a little different. When we mentioned The Eastern State Penitentiary she was totally onboard! It was America’s first penitentiary and therefore the oldest. Built in 1829 it was one of the most expensive and most copied buildings. It ran for 142 years but was officially shut down in the 1970′s. The cells themselves were rather creepy with little doors and windows and had several famous prisoners including Al Capone and Wille Sutton. The building is old, the paint is peeling and there is amazing light around every corner; it was one of the coolest places to to do bridal photography!
When we first talked with Ricky and Theresa we had no idea that we went to high school with Ricky until they came to the studio to meet with us. It was a nice surprise and fun to see Ricky again! They were married in the mountains at the Silverthorne Pavilion. They held their ceremony inside along with the reception due to the heavy amounts of rain that day. Although their guests didn’t sit in the rain Ricky, Theresa and their bridal party were brave enough to be outside for their pictures. Andy & I love it when it rains because it creates the most amazing sky, which if you know us, you know that is our thing!
Because it was a fall wedding they used fall colors including red, orange, yellow and red. She had a beautiful selection of flowers which was perfect for the time of year with her color using roses, daises and cala lilies. The bridesmaids wore long elegant red dresses and there was even a beautiful red accent on Theresa’s wedding dress.
We had a blast at this wedding and as end result we also earned two WPPI awards from it!
