Classic Imagery Photojournalism

Friday, August 13, 2010 Posted in wedding photography

One of the challenges of being a photographer is showing off exactly what you are capable of producing at every wedding.  You have a limited time to show a potential client what makes you tick as a photographer.  It’s especially hard for photographers like Andy and I because our imagery is not always the same.  Each couple is different so using our tools, camera, lenses and light we set out to capture each couple as they are and within our style.  It’s a pitfall of society and even the photography community to think that a photographer can only shoot in one style or one kind of wedding.  In our opinion a professional can handle any circumstance that happens at a wedding and make beautiful stunning images.  This is a wedding I will be sharing on Monday from a wedding at the private  Perry Park Golf Course in Castle Rock.  These are the some of the reception photo’s, mostly of the couple dancing.  The first image is my favorite and is a powerful image.

We are fun and interact with our couples and families when we need to, other times we let moments like these happen without anyone knowing we are around.

Smiles are contagious

Wednesday, August 11, 2010 Posted in wedding photography

Working on this wedding I came across this image of one of our brides. I wanted to put a picture on the blog today that would make everyone smile. I think this one will do the job. The bride having fun smiling, laughing, and having fun before the wedding. I think the image says it all. Make sure to smile at someone today, it’s contagious, but you already know that:)

Fashion Bride Denver Colorado

Friday, August 06, 2010 Posted in wedding photography

I have to say that shooting fashion style bridals is probably one of my favorite shoots. We still enjoy shooting more traditional types of bridal shots, but this kind of shoot allows us to think differently. When it comes to creativity we are only limited by what we can come up with. It’s so much fun to have an image with all its complexity in your mind or sometimes sketched out which we will frequently do. Have you ever pre visualized and sketched out a shot before taking it? If the answer is no, you need to try it. Not only will you make better images, but its an amazing feeling see it come to life before your eyes. We have talked a lot about why you should shoot bridal images with a client from a dress rehearsal on hair and makeup to getting to know your photographer before your day. We have also taught classes on how we shoot these sessions including the class done for Professional Photographers of Colorado. Just take my word for it they are a lot of fun and yield some incredible images. Please enjoy them.
