Wedding Details with Josh & Melissa

Thursday, July 15, 2010 Posted in wedding photographers

If couldn’t tell already, Melissa LOVES pink!  We have seen pink used a lot at weddings but I think this bride wins for the most pink used at a wedding!  Along with pink, Melissa incorporated green which she used throughout the reception. Each of her bridesmaids wore a different style and color pink dress.  The ceremony was on the beautiful grass lawn they have there and the aisle was covered with pink and white rose petals.  They used white wooden chairs and provided each guest with bubbles and pink ribbon.

For the reception Melissa had pink and green paper lanterns hung from the ceiling in between the glass chandeliers.  The chairs were tied with ribbons and they had small bird houses on all of the tables; along with baskets of candy eggs.  They had a really fun 3 tiered cake with little flowers, stripes and triangles in pink and green that leaned different directions.

Congratulations Josh & Melissa!

Mountain Wedding with Josh & Melissa

Wednesday, July 14, 2010 Posted in Colorado Wedding Photographer

From the beginning, Josh and Melissa were great to work with!  We started with an engagement session before their wedding where we kept hearing about this infamous Jeep!  We are Jeep owners ourselves, so we understand the love of a Jeep, but with Josh this was a car he spent hours working on and it came in as a very close second to the love of his life.  They had wanted to use it for their engagement session, but it didn’t work out, so we knew it would be at the wedding!

They were married on a beautiful day at Stone Mountain Lodge in Lyons, near Estes Park.  We all arrived around the same time and Andy quickly grabbed the first shot below of Josh and his mom.  At every wedding we do the parents show a lot of emotion and this wedding was no exception.  We love watching how happy and proud parents are on the wedding day.

I spent the first part of the day with Melissa in a little white tent, photographing her getting ready with the help of her mom, sisters and friends.  It was a lot of fun to watch her when her bouquet arrived; she was so excited and it was so pretty!  It was a bigger bouquet filled with pink and white roses and lilies.  When it came time, you could see how emotional she was walking out with her father but the ceremony went off perfectly and afterwards we spent some time taking pictures of the two of them around the cute pond and beautiful scenery.  Here is part 1 of some of our favorite photojournalistic moments from their wedding day!

Find out if you see color like a pro

Tuesday, July 13, 2010 Posted in misc

Pro’s have an advantage taking this test because most of them are working on color calibrated monitors to make sure prints match their labs. Those of you that don’t though can still play. I thought this might be fun for those of you that want to see how you stack up. Feel free to leave your scores as a comment. Click on the picture to take you to the test.

  • Charlotte I got a 33. And now my eyes hurt. ;) That was fun though! 07.15.10, 10:55PM

Sneak Peak Jeep Wedding

Monday, July 12, 2010 Posted in wedding photographers

I wanted to share a quick picture of the wedding I am going to post tomorrow. Everyone loves a jeep right? We even have one so we get it. The groom Josh is an avid jeep guy. Getting to take a picture of his two favorite things makes for a really cool wedding portrait.
