I get a lot of emails, and we got asked a lot when teaching classes at the College, about our gear. I always felt like I was somehow misleading people though, because its not always about the gear. It doesn’t allways take thousands of dollars of gear to take a great photograph. My case and point for saying this is a story about fishing. My family regularly goes fishing to Wyoming. The best gear is not a prerequisite for fishing. Its a nice thing to have. It may help you land the fish faster. It may help you with precision casting. Its a nice thing to have, and makes your life easier. You can catch fish with cheap gear. The same is true with photography gear. With experience and knowledge of light and how a camera operates, you can make beautiful images with just about any camera. Here are some images from a recent gallery show made with a 30.00 dollar holga camera, which I think are pretty cool. Any camera even pinhole camera’s can take beautiful images. A camera is just a box with a hole that lets light in. It can be made out of a dixie cup, and get images that can inspire.
I wanted to share this video I ran into which shows a fashion shoot done with an Iphone. The video is both funny and entertaining. You can see the finished images at Fstoppers

Not sure what my reaction is supposed to be after watching this video. Its to funny not to share, but thats at least 10,000 worth of equipment plus the bride and grooms pictures. Does it make me evil if it made me laugh a little? Did I offset it by crying a little as well?

Wedding season is in full swing. We have been super busy shooting and editing to keep up. So I don’t have a ton to say but I wanted to share an image that we took last week. This is Jamie, and she is a beautiful girl we had the pleasure of taking photograph’s for lately. She lives in our old stomping grounds Fort Collins where we went to college.
Tim & Heidi matched the groomsmen outfits with the beautiful dresses of the bridesmaids; they wore black tuxedos with matching navy blue ties and vests. Their boutonnieres were also cute little blue flowers to match the overall colors of the wedding. They were married outside with a beautiful view looking down the mountain; the ceremony site faces east and sits up over the highway so you can see for miles. Tim & Heidi had beautiful weather for their wedding and so after their ceremony we were able to shoot with them for awhile with the beautiful mountain scenery! The second part of this beautiful colorado wedding photography can be found here.
Their cake was a 3 tiered yellow, round cake with blue, yellow and purple gerber daisies. Each centerpiece was a simple glass vase filled with rocks, a candle and a navy blue ribbon to match! Here is part 2 of our favorite photos from their wedding day!
