Destination Wedding Cancun Part II

Tuesday, July 19, 2011 Posted in destination wedding photographer

One of the things I LOVE about weddings is the design element and how it all comes together! Even on a destination wedding like this one Mindy created something magical with her destination wedding and it was fun for us to photograph!
While this bride wore the pretty white wedding dress, she had her bridesmaids in colorful long beach dresses. Purple, orange and blue floral patterns and each girl carried A Bird of Paradise Flower. To top it off Mindy even gave each girl a matching blue scarf for when the hot Mexico sun finally set.
The groom wore a nice white suit complimented with each of the groomsmen wearing a nice white button down shirt completed with a sea shell boutonniere.

Their ceremony was so beautiful right next to the water on the beach! Mindy had the hotel complete each of the guest’s chairs with a white cover, an orange ribbon and fan. They did such a great job planning all of the details and colors to match and didn’t stop until they completed their reception with long tables covered in Bird of Paradise Flowers and orange/blue maracas!

We are so lucky to have such amazing clients like Chris and Mindy!

Colorado through film

Saturday, July 16, 2011 Posted in Photographer

I apoligize for the silence on the blog.  We were off shooting a wedding in Montanna and teaching a Woodshop on lighting.  Of course we have come back with some interesting stories and pictures to show as soon as we get a little more caught up.

This is a holga image taken on a trip to Ironton which is now an old ghost town.

Another Perspective

Tuesday, July 05, 2011 Posted in engagement photographers

I am working on an engagement session today and wanted to share a beautiful image that Angie took. Funny thing is she may have never gotten the shot if I had gotten my way. I set the lighting up and the couple in another spot. Angie moved them over. She moved them way over from my perspective. I said hey the cool stuff is over here. She said do you trust me? The answer was of course yes. I went through the shoot wondering what she got. Working on the engagement shoot today I know what could have happened if she wasn’t skilled and had her own perspective. She would have taken the boring shot I set up and missed this wonderfully lit and composed images she took.
