I am amazed at the low light capabilities of this camera.  I will be posting more about it later in the week.

Mile High Photographers Image Critique

Thursday, March 15, 2012 Posted in misc

2 Days left to submit images for printing for the photo critique.  The judges and mentors will be Angie and I along with, our friends Ross Bothwell and Andrew Schaefer.  Having your images critiqued by another photographer can be one of the most valuable learning tools at your disposal.  Even better is the feedback you get to hear on others images.  You are not emotionally attached to another photographers images, so you are free to listen to the feedback without any stake in the outcome.  As a past judge for WPPI and PPW (professional photographers of wyoming) you will get valuable insight into what judges are looking for as well as a great discussion about composition.  It will be non-threatening, honest critique aimed at helping you become a better photographer.  If you can get over your fear of critique you will become a better photographer.

When : Tuesday March 27th

Holga Images Ironton

Thursday, June 30, 2011 Posted in misc

Mystery rolls. That is what we call rolls that don’t get labeled. It’s never work images (wedding) it’s our personal rolls from trips. Once they are mislabeled and sit for a few weeks you kind of forget about them. We spent some time in the darkroom the other day. What a bunch of fun. Lots of talking, lots of work, the smells of chemicals and the sound of running water. If you have never developed your own film, I suggest giving it a try. There is a lot of personal satisfaction from doing the process yourself.

I have a few rolls to scan but here is one that I really liked looking at on the lightbox.

Faith our Jack Russell

Wednesday, March 09, 2011 Posted in misc

We have shared Faith our jack russell before. She often is the one that we turn our camera’s on. We had her out the other day and I had a thought. We need to get this dog earning. She needs to learn our craft, and help the family out. So we went about strapping a Diana camera to her neck. A Diana camera is a plastic medium format camera. After some coaxing and treats I think the dream is dead. Adding Faith to the company is not going to happen. But lets talk about the positive. We still got some cute images of her that we can share.
