Watching a couple so in love surrounded by their friends and family and being able to capture that for forever is one reason we love this job!
Brian & Mandy were a perfect example of this radiating their love the whole day. They were married on a very sunny, hot day and like most of our mid summer weddings we felt bad for all of the guys in dark suits!
Mandy was so cute in her white mermaid gown and green orchid in her hair. They wanted an elegant wedding with a hint of “under the sea” feeling! The bridesmaids wore long, flowing blue dresses and each of the girls carried a simple bouquet of white and green orchids.
They were married at the Inn at Palmer Divide with their ceremony under the balcony. When you do weddings long enough, you begin to memorize a traditional ceremony and know most of the things the officiant is going to say. But on top of those traditional things every wedding we have ever been to has things throughout customized to them. It is always so much to hear little stories and things that come out about our couples during their wedding ceremony! One of the unique things Brian & Mandy did was to use a beautiful white orchid during their ceremony. Instead of lighting a candle or pouring sand they each poured water into this flower’s pot as a sign of their ever growing love for each other.
Their reception was beautifully done with the “under the sea” theme using blue table cloths and clear bowls full of water, white orchids and little fish in the center of each table. Their wedding cake was an elegant square tiered cake with green orchids and a little mermaid topper!
I loved how Mandy took her “under the sea” theme and made it into a beautiful wedding!
The two ring shots both received Accolades of Excellence from WPPI. To see the last twelve award winning wedding photography images click here.
Taking the pictures of the rings is a lot of fun. It gives us a chance to bring in colors from the wedding, put items that will remind you of where you got married. Strong bold colors really go well with beautiful wedding rings.
Oxford Hotel is one of Colorado’s oldest hotels. It is a luxury hotel with a unique atmosphere. We shot a wedding there a few weeks ago and I wanted to share a cool wedding photograph we took just outside of the Oxford Hotel. Luke and Holly are from Nebraska and we had a great time with them. So many incredible pictures I will have to share them soon. If you are looking for a venue in dowtown Denver I highly suggest you talk to the Oxford about your wedding.

Through our photography, Andy & I have had the opportunity to capture important moments in people’s lives and we feel so honored to do so! My parents have lived in the same house since I was eight and I remember when we moved in how welcoming the neighbors were. One family in particular became good friends with our family and almost every day there was conversation across our fence. There were summer bbq’s, quiche on Christmas morning, borrowing kitchen items, weddings and many more days over the decades of laughing together. We have been friends for 25 years and I have lots of fond memories with them.
2 days ago our family attended the funeral of Pat, our neighbor who I knew for 25 years…..
Saying goodbye to people is so hard and it makes me so thankful for the pictures we have to remember them by and celebrate their life.
A few months ago Mike & Pat renewed the wedding vows they had taken many years ago. Because Pat had lost most of her hair due to her treatments they made the celebration a hat party and everyone there had a hat! It was awesome to be a part of their day and watch two people share so much love. Andy & I took many pictures for them that day and in honor of Pat’s life I thought I would share them today.
To the life of a Mother, A sister, A Wife, A Friend, A Neighbor…..
