Taking portraits of babies can be challenging. Really challenging. When we photograph them we just go with the flow. Sometimes they are happy, sometimes they are mad and crying. You have to be patient to create what you want. I would have to say we could possibly drop dead if we had to shoot an 8 hour portrait session with some of these fast, but cute babies. I am working on editing a session today, with pretty little Josephine. All the pictures were really cute, but as a man I connected with these two frames of her with her Dad.
Angie and I recently had the opportunity to take my grandparents out and shoot a 60th anniversary session with them. We split up to take portraits of each of them. Kind of a challenge to see who could get the best portraits of them. We then came together and shot a mini engagement style shoot with them. I am working on the images today along with a few albums and wanted to share an image with you guys. Here is my grandfather a lifelong teacher with a doctorate in education.
This time of year we do a lot of family and children’s portraits. I wanted to share a few of Daniel that I really liked. He has a great smile and and really loves his family. I like to think that the subject has as much to do with the portrait as I do.

We don’t advertise our Portrait side of the business at all. We have found over the years that much of the portrait sessions we do are for our wedding clients. The other half are referrals from those clients to their friends and family. Thats a great place for a business to be working with people that we really love and their friends and family. I wanted to share 2 teaser images from Christine’s Maternity Session. One thing I can say for sure is Christine was glowing.
