Engagement Photography just a taste

Wednesday, May 18, 2011 Posted in engagement photographers

We have been busy since the weather has gotten nicer.  We had 4 engagement sessions last week and some really beautiful weather for all but one.  This is Chad and Xi.  They are so full of laughter and life.  It was actually contagious as angie and I left the engagement session smiling and laughing as well.

We suggest that all of our couples have an engagement session for many of the same reasons brides do bridal sessions.

1.  You are going to get some beautiful imagery that you can use in your announcements and for around the house.  A few of these images will really transform a room.

2.  It’s going to give you an opportunity to see how Angie and I work.  You will be a lot more conferrable on the wedding day and will get better images if you have practiced before.

3.  It’s actually fun.  We get out to some really nice spots, you get to enjoy your fiance’ and the beautiful Colorado outdoors.

Another session with us as the Engagement Photographers

Brian & Mandy a wedding at Palmer Divide

Monday, May 16, 2011 Posted in Colorado Wedding Photographer

Watching a couple so in love surrounded by their friends and family and being able to capture that for forever is one reason we love this job!

Brian & Mandy were a perfect example of this radiating their love the whole day.  They were married on a very sunny, hot day and like most of our mid summer weddings we felt bad for all of the guys in dark suits!

Mandy was so cute in her white mermaid gown and green orchid in her hair.  They wanted an elegant wedding with a hint of “under the sea” feeling!  The bridesmaids wore long, flowing blue dresses and each of the girls carried a simple bouquet of white and green orchids.

They were married at the Inn at Palmer Divide with their ceremony under the balcony.  When you do weddings long enough, you begin to memorize a traditional ceremony and know most of the things the officiant is going to say.  But on top of those traditional things every wedding we have ever been to has things throughout customized to them.  It is always so much to hear little stories and things that come out about our couples during their wedding ceremony!  One of the unique things Brian & Mandy did was to use a beautiful white orchid during their ceremony.  Instead of lighting a candle or pouring sand they each poured water into this flower’s pot as a sign of their ever growing love for each other.

Their reception was beautifully done with the “under the sea” theme using blue table cloths and clear bowls full of water, white orchids and little fish in the center of each table.  Their wedding cake was an elegant square tiered cake with green orchids and a little mermaid topper!

I loved how Mandy took her “under the sea” theme and made it into a beautiful wedding!

The two ring shots both received  Accolades of Excellence from WPPI.  To see the last twelve award winning wedding photography images click here.

Denver Wedding Details

Thursday, May 12, 2011 Posted in Denver Wedding Photographer

Taking the pictures of the rings is a lot of fun.  It gives us a chance to bring in colors from the wedding, put items that will remind you of where you got married.  Strong bold colors really go well with beautiful wedding rings.

Oxford Hotel Weddings

Wednesday, May 11, 2011 Posted in denver photographer

Oxford Hotel is one of Colorado’s oldest hotels.  It is a luxury hotel with a unique atmosphere. We shot a wedding there a few weeks ago and I wanted to share a cool wedding photograph we took just outside of the Oxford Hotel. Luke and Holly are from Nebraska and we had a great time with them.  So many incredible pictures I will have to share them soon.  If you are looking for a venue in dowtown Denver I highly suggest you talk to the Oxford about your wedding.

The Oxford Hotel 1600 17th Street Denver, CO 80202
