Pictures in Honor of Those Who Have Left Us….

Thursday, May 05, 2011 Posted in portraits

Through our photography, Andy & I have had the opportunity to capture important moments in people’s lives and we feel so honored to do so!  My parents have lived in the same house since I was eight and I remember when we moved in how welcoming the neighbors were.  One family in particular became good friends with our family and almost every day there was conversation across our fence.  There were summer bbq’s, quiche on Christmas morning, borrowing kitchen items, weddings and many more days over the decades of laughing together.  We have been friends for 25 years and I have lots of fond memories with them.

2 days ago our family attended the funeral of Pat, our neighbor who I knew for 25 years…..

Saying goodbye to people is so hard and it makes me so thankful for the pictures we have to remember them by and celebrate their life.

A few months ago Mike & Pat renewed the wedding vows they had taken many years ago.  Because Pat had lost most of her hair due to her treatments they made the celebration a hat party and everyone there had a hat! It was awesome to be a part of their day and watch two people share so much love.  Andy & I took many pictures for them that day and in honor of Pat’s life I thought I would share them today.

To the life of a Mother, A sister, A Wife, A Friend, A Neighbor…..

  • Autumn Teesdale These pictures are beautiful and shows their love! I am sure Mike will treasure these for years to come! 05.05.11, 04:18PM

Senior Photographers

Monday, May 02, 2011 Posted in portraits

We got together with some of our friends from ppc to learn and shoot some senior portraits.  It’s always a lot of fun looking around  for those specials spots that will create something you have not seen before.  Angie took this shot.  I used to be the only one that shot with lights, but there is a new master in town, and she is awfully skilled at what she does.  I love the way she framed this image.  When we get a chance to work on the rest of the images I was share them.  There are a lot of beautiful images.

  • Brooke Oh MY the red is beautiful! I might be biased though, it's my favorite color. :) But I love how it kind of blends everything except her face, which pops out! 05.10.11, 11:29AM

Making your Wedding Photographers Day

Monday, May 02, 2011 Posted in Denver Wedding Photography

The world is ever moving.  It sometimes feels like we have filled every minute of our days with something.  We are all moving faster and it seems hard to have time for family or friends.  I know I wish I had more time.  We know our clients are just as busy as us so we don’t always hear what they think about their images.  It is super special when they find the time to write us and let us know.  You could say that it makes our day, but more accurately it would probably be the week.

Suzanne sent this recently and we sure did appreciate it

I just got back from Bolivia and have finally had the chance to really look at the photos you took from the wedding and they are GORGEOUS! They truly are breath-taking and I am awe struck with your ability to have so perfectly captured our day.  Thank you so much for your beautiful work!

Angie and I spend a lot of time talking about how unique this business is.  One of the ways is how personal it is.  We put a lot of who we are into our wedding couples images.  It makes us feel amazing when we hit the mark.

Nick and Andie Part I

Tuesday, April 26, 2011 Posted in Colorado Wedding Photographer

There is a pretty venue tucked away here in Colorado in Silverthorne. We love to photograph weddings up there and this particular wedding couldn’t of been more fun! The Venue is somewhat hidden by an outside shopping center but once you enter there is a giant beautiful room with tall ceilings, wooden floors and some red curtains. Just around the back side is stream with a black rod iron bridge, a small area to sit outside with a fireplace and huge field overlooking the mountains.

They set up their wedding ceremony facing the mountains with the white wooden chairs and more rose petals than I’ve ever seen lining the aisle. The ceremony was extra special for them because they had Nick’s sister perform it and luckily she made it through just before the rain came.

I loved how thought out this wedding was down to every detail! My favorite part were the many different sneakers they had everywhere full of flowers! Because Nick & Andie share a passion for running, her mom spent months collecting these shoes from everyone they knew and after filling them with babies breath, giant yellow sunflowers, carnations and other green plants they hung them by the shoe laces everywhere!

The shot with all the guys and the dramatic sky got Andy an Accolade of Excellence in Las Vegas you can read more about the 12 awards we got from WPPI here
