We were asked if a few images of dogs, in our weddings, could be used in a wedding book. We talk about the furry creatures a lot because we love them so much. After many emails sending over images we received the book today. The book Wedding Dogs: A Celebration in Holy Muttrimoney, you can buy it here on Amazon . People magazine also did a feature on the book , pretty cool.
When we called our clients to make sure it was ok if the images were used. We found out that Brutes had passed away. I was sad, but just like the images of people we have taken I was proud that we had taken some beautiful images for them to remember their faithful friend by. I also thought how cool it would be to have your dogs, in a published book. Thank you to Ryan and Lindsay for taking the time to be interviewed for the book.
With all the snow out today I though I would post a few from a sunny day. I liked the pastel colors and the textures.
I have been having a lot of fun lately exploring abstracts. It has been liberating to think of form, color, shapes, in a non literal way. I am trying to represent these items differently than if I was to merely take a picture that shows them as they are. I am trying to focus on the beauty of the item, without showing it in it’s entirety. The items are not relying on image detail but other forms of composition.
Boulder is a beautiful place in Colorado to get married. Lots of outdoor venues and also some very nice Hotels and Resorts. Both the Colorado University CU and the St. Julien had a lot of beautiful places for us to take wedding photographs. This image would have been great anywhere though because it doesn’t rely on a background, it stands on the emotion and the tender moment between these two on their wedding day.
