Jon & Leanne were married at the beautiful Hudson Gardens near our studio!  The weather was beautiful and the clouds were exactly the way we love them!

We started off doing an engagement session with these two where we learned that Leanne had went to CU in Boulder and Jon had went to CSU in Fort Collins.  If you live in Colorado you know that these two universities are rivals even though they are nothing alike and their football teams aren’t even in the same the category.  Andy & I both went to CSU and every year we have a great time with our CU friends watching the big Showdown football game between the two schools!  So I can only imagine what it is like for the two of them!

For their engagement session they actually brought T-shirts with their own schools and we had a ton of fun playing around with that!  Here is a the link to see their fun engagement session

Leanne planned a very pretty and elegant wedding!  The two were married in the Rose Garden and had a ton of friends and family there cheering them on.  They had a huge bridal party with 8 people on each side and although there were so many of them we still had them climbing on rocks and running around!

Hudson Gardens Littleton Wedding Photography

This wedding was so pretty and Leanne picked details that were very elegant!  Both the bridesmaids and the groomsmen wore all black with a touch of color in the guys boutonnières of green orchids.  Each of the bridesmaids carried soft bouquets of white roses, green orchids and were tied with a simple green ribbon.  As a small accent piece, the groomsmen had a small green handkerchief in their front pocket.

The reception was outside under a white tent at the gardens.  Each table was adorned with a black tablecloth, green accent pieces and a lit candle as the centerpiece.  Leanne also had small white and black planters at each place setting for the guests to take with them.

Their cake was white with a modern feel and was topped with a big silver “M” on the top for their new last name.

Everything about this wedding was so pretty!  Here are a few more of our favorite photos from the day!

Alternative Processes

Sunday, August 29, 2010 Posted in wedding photography

I have been working with a lot of alternative processes this summer. Staying fresh and finding some new products for our customers. To add to the wetplate collodion work we are doing we have also been working with encaustics, negatives from pack film and shooting a lot of 220 medium format color film. I know our brides are like what, and so might a lot of the digital photographers around the country. Basically this means we are going to have some new products to start showing off soon as I stop playing around.

As a side note I wanted to say that tonight has been super sad to be working with analog materials that are being discontinued. Tonight I found out that Fuji Pro 400h 220 has been discontinued. Also FP100b45 which is a great pack film.

The only good news. I saw that the impossible project is expecting to bring back 8×10 instant film early next year.

Of course here are a few pictures from pack film negatives. These don’t have any work on them except a slight tone. The texture is from preparing the negative. It almost gives a look similar to wet plate.  They definitely don’t look like digital
