Angie and I wanted to say thank you to everyone that came out to our First SEO Woodshop. We had wedding planners, dj’s, flower shops, corporate planners, cinematagraphers and designers. We will be announcing with official dates the Woodshops for photographers at WPPI in Las Vegas along with the website we have been working on. Its been a lot of work since we first announced the Woodshop in September. I can’t wait to share.

Last night I was doing a little searching and ran across something that I thought was pretty telling. It really helped illustrate just how hard it has become for brides to find a good wedding photographer. There are probably a lot of talented wedding photographers that would be a great fit that you might never have heard of. I wrote an article a few years ago “How to pick a wedding photographer top 10 things to think about“. If you do a search on “How to pick a wedding Photographer” it actually ranks #1 in google. Hopefully this will give, you the bride, some questions you can ask the photographers that you are meeting with. Now to help you find other reputable photographers in the business. Maybe you are a bride from another state and want to work with a local photographer or looking for another style that we don’t offer.
My top list of places to find the best wedding photographers are found below: Many places like the knot are directories of photographers that have paid to be listed. There is nothing wrong with that just the fact that some of the more established, successful photographers may not be advertising on them anymore. The lists that I am going to share below are from professional organizations, that list dedicated, professional photographers. There are many other places to browse photographers but these are two great databases, of photographers that are committed to their craft.

Now for the pictures that sparked me to write this post. The first one is a google map of the photographers in Colorado. The second one is a map of all the gas stations in the state of Colorado. I know it has become increasingly harder for brides to find a Colorado Wedding Photographer or a Photographer for that matter.
If you have been following this blog you will know we talk about Bridal Sessions a lot on this blog. You don’t see a lot bridal sessions before weddings in Colorado. It really is more of a Southern tradition, but it is very common for Angie and I to shoot a lot of bridal sessions for the following reasons.
A few great reasons.
1. They are a blast
2. Its a great trail run for your makeup and hair. Many hair or makeup artists will allow you a trial run to make sure you like everything that is planned before the big day.
3. Did I mention they are a blast:0
4. They give you an opportunity to practice and get comfortable in front of the camera. This is along the same logic as an engagement session. The more you are in front of the camera and get to know Angie and I, the better your photographs will be on the day of the wedding.
5. When you give a photographer time to create something special they do

Sorry for the lack of posts last week. We had been in Nashville for Imaging USA, came back and had a 3 day corporate event to shoot. I love sharing milestones in our business. Anyone who has blogged will tell you that getting readers takes times. This blog has been a huge success for us, and will soon be updated with a beautiful design from the guys at Flosites. Stay tuned for that. We bloggged about 50,000 visitors here in August. Well, we have hit another milestone of 75,000 visitors a few days ago. Thats a lot of visitors and we appreciate everyone who leaves comments, reads and gets inspired, and learns something and shares it with someone else.
